But I gave my credit card at the outset and then paid when I left; three weeks later the authorisation they took initially was still blocking out my card, so I could not use it. Seven phone calls to Dubai later and I am still waiting. Be warned. Do not leave without seeing them remove the authorisation - "Absolute splendour" from gforce Stayed at the Burj for 3 nights in Aug. If anyone is wondering about staying at this hotel, but unsure about the cost and whether its all worth it, (as many a good hotel can be found on Jumeirah Beach), dont hesitate, book up now and GO!!!! There are great hotels all around the world, 5 star, 6 star, whatever the star, the Burj is a total one off, and - "First impressions - WOW!" from A TripAdvisor Member This is one hotel you must stay in during your lifetime. We stayed here for our first wedding anniversary following a week in the Maldives. We booked via Cresta Worldwide and got transferred to the hotel via Arabian Adventures in a minibus - this is not the sort of transport you should really be turning up ...

Beyond Reality - Amazing Race 15 Recap 10/18/09 Last time on the Race Zev & Justin were eliminated. Teams have to fly from Cambodia to the Persian Gulf to find the tallest building in the world which is Burj, Dubai. Once they get their clue on the 124th floor they have to drive themselves to the Dubai Dessert Conservation Preserve. This clue also contains the only fast forward in the race. Meghan & Cheyne decide to do the fast forward which is at the Dubai Autodrome. Cheyne had to race 1 lap in 45 secs or less. After completion they drove to the pitstop. At the Dessert Preserve there was a Roadblock - Who thinks they can beat the dessert heat? One team member had to search the dessert for urns containing water that were buried in the sand & fill up their water bags for the next clue. The next clue brought them to Ski Dubai where there was a detour. It was either build a snowman or find a snowman. They either had to build a snowman outside in the heat before it melted or take a lift to the top of the ski resort & sled down & dig in the mounds of snow to find a tiny snowman. Pit Stop - Souk Madinet Jumeirah. 1st place - Meghan & Cheyne - they won a trip for 2 to Jamaica. 2nd place - Brian & Ericka. 3rd place - The Globetrotters. 4th place - Gary & Matt. 5th place - Sam & Dan. 6th place - Lance & Keri. 7th place - Maria & Tiffany. Lance & Keri were eliminated from the race Next time - Dubai - slide of their lives! Mika freaks out!
