Longboard/Skateboard Bearings Maintenance/Installation

Tutorial on how to clean, lubricate, and install bearings. This should be done at least 1-2 times a month, depending on how fast the bearings get dirty. Not cleaning dirty bearings results in damage to the bearings (and rider, if the bearings seize up/break mid-ride) Regularly cleaning bearings will give you a more comfortable ride, and it will make the bearings last a very long time. Only use lubricant that is designed for use on skateboard bearings. DO NOT USE WD40!!! EVER!!! Do not lubricate until after you clean the bearings (doing so will just mix the lubricant with the dirt inside the bearings) I use Bones Speed Cream ($8) and 99% isopropyl alcohol ($4)
