2. The Universal Principle of Risk Management: Pooling and the Hedging of Risks

Financial Markets (ECON 252) Statistics and mathematics underlie the theories of finance. Probability Theory and various distribution types are important to understanding finance. Risk management, for instance, depends on tools such as variance, standard deviation, correlation, and regression analysis. Financial analysis methods such as present values and valuing streams of payments are fundamental to understanding the time value of money and have been in practice for centuries. 00:00 - Chapter 1. 4. Foundations: Skinner

Introduction to Psychology (PSYC 110) Professor Bloom opens with a brief discussion of the value and evolutionary basis of unconscious processing. The rest of this lecture introduces students to the theory of Behaviorism, particularly the work of prominent behaviorist, BF Skinner. Different types of learning are discussed in detail, as well as reasons why behaviorism has been largely displaced as an adequate theory of human mental life. 00:00 - Chapter 1. Terraria PvP - Terraria PVP - Capture the Gem

Full instructions on how to to play are as follows: Essentially in its most basic form this game is capture the flag with two teams red and blue each having a base with a chest containing a ruby for red team and a sapphire for blue team. To win the teams must take the opposing teams gem and place it in there chest and if and the team that gets both gems in there chest wins. What makes this game different to normal CTF is that it has a preparation phase . The teams have 10miniutes to prepare themselves in any way they decide to try and protect their gem through whatever means they can as long as they stay on their half of the map. For example they could decide to spend this time to surrounding there base with dirt to prevent the opposing team reaching their gem. Or alternatively they could spend the time gathering materials to create better weapons for fighting. It is essential that this time is spent wisely and the right decisions on what to do are made or the opposing team could have a great advantage. Once the 10minites is up then the CTF phase begins and the team who has spent the preparation time most strategically will win! Rules in this game are as follows: No crossing the border between each person's side of the map during planning phase even if it is underground! You are only allowed to take hold of your own teams gem if you are taking it straight back to your own chest. Prolonging its placement back into your own chest is cheating and result in the other team ...

2. Foundations: This Is Your Brain

Introduction to Psychology (PSYC 110) This lecture introduces students to two broad theories of how the mind relates to the body. Dualism is the ubiquitous and intuitive feeling that our conscious mind is separate from our physical bodies, whereas Materialism is the idea that all of our mental states are caused by physical states of the brain. This lecture reviews arguments explaining why materialism has become the predominant theory of mind in psychology. This discussion is followed by a basic overview of the neurophysiology of the brain. 00:00 - Chapter 1. The Brain, the Mind and Dualism 12:06 - Chapter 2. 4. Best responses in soccer and business partnerships

Game Theory (ECON 159) We continue the idea (from last time) of playing a best response to what we believe others will do. More particularly, we develop the idea that you should not play a strategy that is not a best response for any belief about others' choices. We use this idea to analyze taking a penalty kick in soccer. Then we use it to analyze a profit-sharing partnership. Toward the end, we introduce a new notion: Nash Equilibrium. 00:00 - Chapter 1. 1. Course Introduction and Newtonian Mechanics

Fundamentals of Physics (PHYS 200) Professor Shankar introduces the course and answers student questions about the material and the requirements. He gives an overview of Newtonian mechanics and explains its two components: kinematics and dynamics. He then reviews basic concepts in calculus through two key equations: x = x0 + v0t + ½ at2 and v2 = v02+ 2 a (x-x0), tracing the fate of a particle in one dimension along the x-axis. 00:00 - Chapter 1.
