I've Loved You So Long (Trailer)

"I'VE LOVED YOU SO LONG" is a film about the strength of women, their capacity to shine forth, reconstruct themselves and be reborn. A story about our secrets, about confinement, about the isolation we all share." - Philippe Claudel SYNOPSIS Léa (Elsa Zylberstein) and Juliette (Kristin Scott Thomas) are sisters. The film begins with Léa, the younger sister by fifteen years, picking Juliette up at the airport. We soon realize that the two sisters are almost complete strangers to each other. Juliette has just been released from prison after serving a long sentence. Léa was still a teenager when Juliette, a doctor, was convicted of the murder of her six-year-old son. Léa contacted Juliette when she was released and suggested that Juliette come to live with her. Juliette had no particular desire to see her sister again. Luc (Serge Hazanavicius), Léas husband, is quite reserved, almost hostile, about Juliettes presence under their roof. Luc and Léa have two adopted Vietnamese daughters, who are 8 and 3 years old. Lucs father, Papy Paul (Jean-Claude Arnaud) also lives in the house. Hes a charming old man who spends all of his time reading since a stroke deprived him of the power of speech. Life together isnt easy to begin with. Juliette has to relearn certain basics. The world has moved on and she often seems confused. Although she may seem cold and distant, her attitude stems more from her being ill at ease. Helped by some, such as the kindly but tactless social worker and her ...

Assassin's Creed 2 SuperGuide!!!! - CO-OP

Everything you wanted to know about Assassin's Creed 2 - and lots lots more!!! This special episode includes review, gameplay footage, tips, tricks, hints, cheats and special moments from the Venice, Italy version of Assassin's Creed from Ubisoft. Great Game! ASSASSIN'S CREED 2 is better than it's predecessor in every conceivable way, one of the best games ever Unfortunately, the PS3 version is clearly the inferior product. To be clear, we hate the console wars and find it inane to decry one console in favor of another, but the difference in AC2 is apparent enough to merit at least some quick discussion in this week's extra-long chat. And extra time is exactly the kind of favor that this game warrants and thus the nature of this only-two-game episode of CO-OP.

Abstract art uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Western art had been, from the Renaissance up to the middle of the 19th century, underpinned by the logic of perspective and an attempt to reproduce an illusion of visible reality. The arts of cultures other than the European had become accessible and showed alternative ways of describing visual experience to the artist. By the end of the 19th century many artists felt a need to create a new kind of art which would encompass the fundamental changes taking place in technology, science and philosophy. The sources from which individual artists drew their theoretical arguments were diverse, and ...

Believe - music by Gianni (John) Pascuzzi for Ukulele's for Peace

A little song dedicated to the hard work of the Ukulele's for Peace Project, played on a Tuvan Igil. This isn't my project, I'm just helping spread the word about it though my song, and hope you'll do the same. Here's is some info about the project from the UkulelesForPeace.com website For a long time, we have been watching and living the miserable situation between Israel and the Palestinian Arabs in the area. We asked ourselves, how can we contribute to a change of atmosphere? How can we break the distrust between the societies, and how can we--as simple citizens--create more opportunities for Jews and Arabs to meet and be involved with one another in our daily lives? As Paul regularly performs to both Arab and Jewish kids, it gave him an idea: to combine his love for the ukulele (a small and easy to learn 4 string instrument) and his experience with children to create Ukuleles For Peace. The goal of Ukuleles for Peace is to bring Jewish and Arab children together to play in an orchestra with ukuleles, kazoos and other fun instruments. Paul works with the students once a week in their own schools, and then brings them together for performances. The children sing in Hebrew, Arabic and English. The hope is that playing together will create further opportunities for communal activities, and that parents and members of the communities will get involved in the program. Ukuleles for Peace has grown since its inception to involve classes at the open/democratic elementary ...

A Tribute to the King of Beats....BERNARD "PRETTY" PURDIE

BERNARD "PRETTY" PURDIE... "THE KING OF BEATS" " A Living Legend " Aretha would not record unless Bernard Purdie was on the session!!!!!! He is The most recorded drummer in music history.... If you dont know.....just ask ARETHA! (the beat behind "ROCK STEADY") BERNARD PURDIE was born June 11, 1939 in Elkton, Maryland as the eleventh of fifteen children. Purdie began already as a six-year-old to bang out rhythms on improvised equipment. This "schooling" enabled Purdie to "feel my way into nearly every kind of music, 'cause I had to know all styles and was never afraid to try something new." Purdie moved to New York in 1960 after finishing high school and played with (among others), Lonnie Youngblood before landing his first hit with King Curtis. Since then, Purdie has been a regular guest in the studios of the stars of Jazz, Soul, and Rock, working together with Paul Butterfield as well as Larry Coryell, Miles Davis, Hall & Oates, Al Kooper, Herbie Mann, Todd Rundgren and Cat Stevens, as well as regularly producing his own solo albums under his own name. Greensleeves - John Johnson

"Be ye ensured that I will be as good unto you as ever a Queen was unto her people" — Elizabeth I - John Johnson (1540 - 1594), like most English Court musicians, probably began his career as a boy serving an apprenticeship to a player engaged in a great noble house, possibly that of the Earl of Leicester. This would normally last for seven years, and may have begun as soon as the early 1560s. One extant indenture, for a lutenist of a later generation, Daniel Bachelar, records that the boy entered his apprenticeship at the tender age of seven, and there is nothing to suggest that this was unusual. The system was essential for any musician of low birth aspiring to a Court post, for it provided the crucial patronage and personal contacts which would otherwise be totally out of reach, however prodigious his talent. In 1577 Johnson entered Royal service as one of Her Majestys Musitians for the three lutes. Together with Mathias Mason and Thomas Cardell, appointed around the same time, Johnson was among the first group of native English players to win the Royal accolade. The roster of lutenists formally engaged in that capacity by Elizabeth at times eventually rose as high as six or seven, and more lute players were employed in other posts, while extras were doubtless taken on as required for special occasions such as Court masques. Thus Johnson joined the Court just when his instruments time seems to have come. Johnsons lute playing must have been exceptional, but his ...
