Christian, el León

En 1969, Ace Bourke y John Rendall -dos australianos que vivían en Londres- compraron un cachorro de león en el departamento de animales exóticos de los almacenes Harrods. Procedía del zoo de Ilfracombre, donde una pareja de leones había tenido cachorros. Christian, como llamaron al león, pesaba 18 kg y demostró ser un animal muy inteligente y cariñoso, tanto con las personas como con otros animales. Instalaron al león en el sótano de una tienda de muebles llamada Sophistocat, situada en el barrio londinense de Chelsea. A veces lo llevaban a comer a un restaurante llamado Casserole, y en ocasiones viajaba con sus dueños en la parte trasera de un Bentley. Solía corretear en el cementerio de una capilla del barrio y además tuvo la ocasión de bañarse en las orillas del Canal de la Mancha. Al año de su compra, cuando Christian pesaba ya 84 kg y empezaba a exhibir melena, se hizo evidente que, aunque nunca hizo daño a nadie, no podía seguir llevando una vida urbana ni habitando en aquel sótano londinense. Entonces, Bourke y Rendall decidieron que lo mejor que podían hacer era llevarlo a África para que se criase en libertad. Por ello se pusieron en contacto con Bill Travers, el actor que protagonizó la película "Nacida libre", que contaba la historia real de cómo el conservacionista George Adamson, The father of lions" o, simplemente, "Lion Man, criaba en su hogar en la reserva de Kora, situada cerca del río Tana ya unos 350 kilómetros al noroeste de Nairobi, a unos cachorros ...

Raul Santos Seixas (Salvador, 28 de junho de 1945 — São Paulo, 21 de agosto de 1989) foi um cantor, compositor, produtor e músico brasileiro. Biografia Filho do engenheiro Raul Varella Seixas e da dona de casa Maria Eugênia Santos Seixas, Raul nasceu e cresceu na cidade de Salvador. Tinha um irmão, quatro anos mais novo, Plínio Seixas. Em casa, mergulhava nos livros que tinha à disposição, na biblioteca do pai. "Canto Para Minha Morte" Universo Alternativo - fantasia sobre o "Profeta" Raul Seixas.As 50 apresentações pelo Brasil resultaram naquele que seria o último disco lançado em vida por Raul Seixas. O disco foi intitulado de A Panela do Diabo, que foi lançado pela Warner Music Brasil no dia 19 de agosto de 1989. Dois dias depois, na manhã do dia 21 de agosto de 1989, Raul Seixas foi encontrado morto sobre a cama pela sua empregada Dalva, por volta das oito horas da manhã, vítima de uma parada cardíaca: seu alcoolismo, agravado pelo fato de ser diabético, e por não ter tomado insulina na noite anterior, causaram-lhe uma pancreatite aguda fulminante. O LP A Panela do Diabo vendeu 150.000 cópias, rendendo a Raul um disco de ouro póstumo, entregue à sua família e também a Marcelo Nova, tornando-se assim um dos discos de maior sucesso de sua carreira. Após a morte Festival em Belo Horizonte, realizado em 2009 em homenagem a Raul Seixas.
