Broadway, New York City - Video tour of Madison Square, Herald Square, Macy's and Flatiron Building

In this new video tour of New York City from the series "All Along Broadway" (see the first two episodes: "Wall street" ( www.youtube.com ) and "Union Square" ( www.youtube.com ), David Hill from New York Habitat continues his stroll along Broadway and presents Midtown Manhattan and its famous squares: Madison Square, Herald Square and Greeley Square. Broadway is one of the most famous roads in the world. It runs the length of Manhattan, from its southern tip to the northern tip of the island and continues in the Bronx, crossing many of Manhattan's neighborhoods. History The oldest "street" in New York City, Broadway was originally used as a trail by the Native Americans who lived here; later it was used by the Dutch settlers to travel to the northern forests to hunt. Madison Square Walking north along Broadway, you will reach a large intersection at Fifth Avenue and 23rd St. which creates a big square. This is Madison Square, named after the 4th US President, James Madison. It was here in 1842 where some of the first amateur baseball games were ever played. They used a vacant lot in the north part of the square (corner of Madison Avenue & 27th Street). Later, the original New York Knickerbocker Baseball club, one of the first professional baseball teams, started right here. Phil Gibbs Mid 2010 Sampler

I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE SONGS IN THIS VIDEO! Tricking has been VERY different this year. After returning home from ATG 2010, I was hoping that I would be able to destroy the level of tricking I was at and quickly move onto bigger and better things straight away! This unfortunately wasnt the case. My tricking went backwards for about 2 months and I struggled to do basic moves which I could easily do back in 2009. I let my frustration get the better of me and in turn, it effected my tricking. Another thing that has made this year so different is not being able to trick with my usual group of happy go lucky/loving it tricking friends. Scotts injury was/is FAR more serious than any of us thought, my friend Visser completely severed the ligament in his knee and several other injuries that has caused him to no longer trick, and McLay always receiving minor injuries which would set him back a month or two each time. LUCKLY I always had Goku/Musky/Szabi/my parents and ALOT of other friends to help me get through this rough patch of tricks. Eventually the period of crappy tricking ended, I stopped being a wiener and started loving it again, McLay is back and appears injury free and destroying planets again and thanks to all my friends in Sydney, I was able to gain even MORE motivation and excitement than ever before!!! Once again, I have rambled on too long, SO HERE ENJOY THE SAMPLER! I would like to also thank Adam Rankine for helping me render and fine tune this sampler. LOVE ...

Tornadoes&Twisters- The main types

A tornado is a violent, rotating column of air which is in contact with both the surface of the earth and a cumulonimbus cloud or, in rare cases, the base of acumulus cloud. Tornadoes come in many shapes and sizes, but are typically in the form of a visible condensation funnel, whose narrow end touches the earth and is often encircled by a cloud of debris and dust. Most tornadoes have wind speeds less than 110 miles per hour (177 km/h), are approximately 250 feet (80 m) across, and travel a few miles (several kilometers) before dissipating. The most extreme can attain wind speeds of more than 300 mph (480 km/h), stretch more than two miles (3 km) across, and stay on the ground for dozens of miles (more than 100 km). Various types of tornadoes include the landspout, multiple vortex tornado, and waterspout. Waterspouts have similar characteristics to tornadoes, characterized by a spiraling funnel-shaped wind current that forms over a body of water, connecting to a large cumulus or cumulonimbus cloud. Waterspouts are generally classified as non-supercellular tornadoes that develop over bodies of water. These spiraling columns of air frequently develop in tropical areas close to the equator, and are less common at high latitudes.
