| UPDATE 1/23/11 Thanks for all the feedback everyone, I've learned so much more since this video was shot - "Pook" is the proper way to pronounce the bike's make, and my moped itself has also come a long way. I made this video after I couldn't find a good carb cleaning video myself, hope it can help you out, everyone likes to do things differently but I feel seeing things apart and together again is useful. This carb is the 12mm that came stock on the 1978 Puch Maxi, most other bings are the same. There is a little discontinuity in the video, I wasn't able to get a 5mm socket until most of the filming was done, but bear with me because it doesn't make it any harder to follow. Also, at the end where I put the carb back on the moped, I didn't have the same one I used for the beginning of the film, but it is nearly identical (the primer is a big white nub instead of a short black one, and the banjo fitting is a bit different). You can google "Puch Maxi Repair Manual" but there are also useful links at the bottom of the Moped Army wiki page for the Puch Maxi www.mopedarmy.com Inspiration for this video was also drawn from "Freds Guide" www.mopedarmy.com |
