2009 Athens Riots (December 6th and 7th)

Here is a compilation of videos that I shot during the December 6th and 7th protest/riots in Athens, Greece. I was in the city on vacation when this took place. I hear that the riot was in commemoration of a 15 year old kid who was shot and killed by police one year prior. The film is a little shaky at times as it was filmed with a small pocket-sized camera (Flip Ultra HD).

Scontri nel corteo, manifestante perde due dita per una bomba carta. - 15 ottobre 2011

ENGLISH AT BOTTOM Scontri interni al corteo del 15 ottobre 2011 a Roma. Il video è ripreso da una terrazza di via Cavour. Nei primi secondi si vede la fine del lancio di oggetti verso due camionette della polizia in via dei Serpenti. Dopodichè l'attenzione di sposta nel vicolo precedente da cui compaiono degli individui estranei allo spezzone del corteo (anarchici o infiltrati). I manifestanti cercano di allontanarli (anche a botte), gridando "Fuori, fuori". Per risposta delle bombe carta vengono gettate tra la folla. A 0:55 si vede distintamente una persona ferita alla mano correre verso i vigili del fuoco in cerca di aiuto. Sono circa le 15.30-16 del pomeriggio. Conflict among protest marchers (15th october Rome) Protester loses two fingers after the explosion of a firecracker. The video is been shot from a balcony overlooking Via Cavour. In the first few seconds you can notice some people throwing several objects against two police vans on Via dei Serpenti. After this, from the lane next to it, some other people previously not involved with the rally show up (anarchists or leakers). The protesters will try to force them away, shouting and attacking them. They answer by throwing firecrackers. At 0:55 you can distinctly see a person carrying a wounded hand running towards the firefighters seeking help. It is about 4 pm

Re: Charlie Veitch

A video response to Slaxxxer's video "Charlie Veitch", about his recent turn against the 9/11 conspiracy and how the movement are reacting to it. Slaxxxer's video: www.youtube.com What I didn't get to say at the end is that every group or movement has its flaws (because human beings are always flawed.) Like almost any other movement, the Truth Movement has its fools and crazy people. The few who are threatening Charlie Veitch do not speak for the Truth Movement, any more than a few anarchists throwing stones speak for a large group of protestors fighting for peace. No group or movement is ever perfect, because they're made of flawed human beings. At least the Truth Movement is about truth, and I think that many of the revolutions and protests around the world are happening because of secret information being made public. Charlie Veitch has announced that he is making a documentary to explore his turnaround and the reaction of the Truth Movement. I hope that he will make this documentary with honesty, just asking questions (as we've come to expect from him.) If he were to turn on the Truth Movement (as recent comments of his do seem to indicate) he could do some real damage to how the public sees the movement. Like I said above, the hateful actions of some do not speak for the majority. At any rate, for those who are telling him off or threatening him, you are only hurting the movement.

Song: Hey, There's the Village (ukrainian folk-song) The Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Революційна Повстанська Армія України, Revolyutsiyna Povstanska Armiya Ukrayiny), also known as the Black Army, was an anarchist army formed largely of Ukrainian and Crimean peasants and workers under the command of the famous anarchist leader Nestor Makhno during the Russian Civil War. The Black Army numbered between 15000 and 110000 men and was organized on conventional lines, with infantry, cavalry, and artillery units; artillery batteries were attached to each infantry brigade. Makhnov's cavalry incorporated both regular and irregular horse-mounted (guerrilla) forces, and was considered to be among the best trained and most capable of any of the cavalry units deployed by any side in the Russian Civil War.[3] The Black Army was frequently referred to at the time by the Bolshevik Communist government and Red Army commanders as Makhnovist forces, since they pointedly declined to accord the Ukrainian anarchists the status of having either an army or a legitimate political movement. G20 Toronto - Snatch & Grab Squads

the tactic is called 'snatch & grab', whereby the state thugs identify/target 'protest leaders', then move in to remove them from the group. the intent being of course to intimidate and demoralize the other protesters. the criminalization of dissent and marginalization/erosion of our democratic right to public assembly & protest became painfully obvious as the 'Integrated Security Unit' dispatched hundreds (thousands?) of Imperial Stormtroopers to harass and intimidate demonstrators; 'kettling' and beating peaceful protesters into tightly restricted/controlled "Free Speech Zones"... concerned citizens who had rightly taken to the streets in protest of the rapacious greed & socially-destructive policies imposed by G20 leaders, and the vulgarity of having a 'police state' apparatus rammed down our throats. 'the mood' changed rather quickly after the State thugs showed up (there were even snipers stationed on rooftops for fucksake)... masked, militarized and malevolent. it was pretty obvious that many of Chief Blair's robocops were itching for fight and wasted no opportunity to push their authoritarian weight around at the slightest provocation (like blowing bubbles or singing our national anthem). essentially, the overwhelming police presence was stifling and repressive; the kettling tactics, snatch & grab squads, mass pepper spraying, restricted to 'free speech zones', et al. the militaristic 'security theatre' of the G20 fiasco is what transformed initially peaceful ...

DIRT - "Black and white" (Compilation 2CD)

Dirt were an anarcho-punk band from the UK. Initially formed in 1980 (with a core line-up of Gary, Deno, Fox, Lou and Vomit), the band frequently played with fellow anarchists Crass, before releasing their first EP, Object, Refuse, Reject, Abuse on the Crass Records label. Their second release, Never Mind Dirt, Here's the Bollocks, also on the Crass label, was a live LP released in 1982. The band went into a brief hiatus after 1982 when they took to the road again (Gary and Deno recruiting new members Stuart, Paul and Richard) and recorded the Just An Error album, after which they split in 1986. Gary and Deno reconvened the band yet again, in 1992, and began touring extensively which resulted in the Drunks in Rusty Transits album after which the band was dissolved. Singer Gxist (Gary) later formed Stratford Mercenaries with Steve Ignorant of Crass. The original bass player, Vomit (Vince), went on to form Earth Culture, a neo-pagan band.
