Peter tells her that Maria Alexeevna found out about his affair and she would have hurt Marfa, so he decided to send Marfa away. Maria saw them together, she was furious and wanted to shoot Marfa, but she accidentally shoot Peter and left him there. Mikhail recognizes Olga, but she is still pretending to be Mrs Bolotova.
