Gameplay in its commercial release has two principal modes: Survival, which requires players to acquire resources themselves and maintain their health and hunger; and Creative, where the player has an unlimited supply of resources, the ability to fly, and no concept of health or hunger. A third gameplay mode, named Hardcore, is essentially the same as Survival, but the difficulty is locked on the hardest setting and respawning is disabled, forcing the player to delete his or her world upon death. An outdated Classic version is also available for free, although it is no longer being developed. Creative Minecraft resembles Classic, but with many more features. The Volunteer - Uganda

Narrated by James Blunt. This episode documents Hugo's efforts, as a volunteer, to fundraise and build two classrooms for a primary school in a remote village in Uganda in aid of the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund. Hugo and his team including Richard Dunwoody and Chloe Hill struggle to get the project completed while also contending with the stresses, emotions and cultural differences associated with a charity driven project in rural Africa. As the project unravels it becomes clear that with an overflow of tradition and protocol, time is running out to complete the project, and communication barriers are creating tensions on the ground. The hospitality and kindness of the local Basoga people versus the necessity of showing progress and results on the ground provide an exciting mix of entertainment, frustration and joy. Players will take the role of either an officer of the Umbrella Security Service (USS) or Echo Six, a team of the US government's special operations field unit. The two sides have vastly different objectives: members of the USS are tasked with destroying evidence of Umbrella's illegal operations, including killing survivors of the outbreak, while the Special Operations team has to expose the actions of the company.[3][4] Operation Raccoon City will allow the player to make major "what-if" decisions such as killing Leon S.
