| Mission Day 299. Earth is one month from the end when the Argo arrives with the cannon from Gardiana. They count down to fire it, but are interrupted by a surprise attack from the Bolar, backed up by Bemlayze's giant space fortress and its black hole simulator gun. Desslok arrives and the battle is joined. Jason runs out onto the deck to repair the gun hatch and is hit. Flash avenges him by crash-diving into the Bolar fortress. Moved by his brave sacrifice, Desslok finishes the Bolar with one shot of his "excelsior" cannon. Finally, Wildstar and Nova fire the cannon together and the sun is restored. During a final salute to the fallen, Mariposa appears and declares that this is what comes of war. The End. |
