| In 2009, during 13th International Film Festival of Kerala 2009, film critic Lalit Rao interviewed Mr.Karen Shaknazarov outside New cinema hall before the screening of his film Vsadnik po imeni Smert [The rider named death]. It was a very interesting talk which enabled both persons to share their knowledge of Russian cinema.In 1999,film critic Lalit Rao and Russian diplomat Mr.Vadim.T.Kirsanov organized a film festival of Russian cinema at Russian Cultural Centre,Chennai. Among other famous films, it presented Karen Shakhnazarov's surrealist film "Zero City". Mr Karen Shaknazarov is also CEO of MOSFILM studios.
