Dr. Alan Guth, Professor of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is best known for the "inflationary" theory of cosmology in which many features of our universe, including how it came to be so uniform and why it began so close to the critical density can be explained by. Dr. Guth is the author of The Inflationary Universe, the Quest for a New Theory of Cosmic Origins, Alan Guth, A Golden Age of Cosmology and other publications. WTC7 in Freefall--No Longer Controversial

Driving through Atlanta

A somewhat leisurely drive through the Atlanta area. 17 miles condensed into about 7 minutes and 15 seconds. This is set to one of the best cruising songs of all times - Jessica, by the Allman Brothers. Take a closer look. You can see some of the tornado damage to the skyscrapers in the downtown area. The video starts just to the north interchange of I-75/I-285 near Marietta, and continues south until the Downtown Connector splits just south of downtown.

Popeye the Sailor - Child Sockology (1953)

Famous Studios Popeye the Sailor cartoon. Popeye and Bluto are invited over to Olive's house for dinner, but they arrive early and are asked to play with Swee'Pea while they wait for dinner to be ready. Trouble starts when Swee'Pea wanders out of the house onto a skyscraper. The design for Swee'Pea in this cartoon, and all other Famous Studios cartoons does not resemble the character that appeared in the Fleischer Studios shorts or the comic strip. This cartoon has vanished from TV screens in recent years.
