"The Ruger Single Six" by Nutnfancy

Amazingly the Ruger Single Six has been in continous production since 1957. Chock another one up in the win column for Ruger. This gun is entrenched in Americana and connects to guys and gals who have an appreciation for a quality western-style of gun and the mystique of such firearms (include me in that category). Modeled after the Colt Single Action Army, the SS provides the same feel, sounds, and charisma of the Old West. To spend an afternoon shooting this little pistol is to be taken back the world of our favorite western movies where justice was meted out at the with a fast six shooter. OK maybe fast is a relative term with the Single Six but this gun will bring a welcome and fun style of shooting to your outings: slow it down a bit, make the shots count, and practice your old fashioned reloading techniques. And the good news is these of hours of shooting will cost little. The Super Single Six is a convertible single action revolver chambered for both .22 LR and .22 Mag using different cylinders. This makes this well-made cowboy gun cheap to shoot. Cylinder interchange is simple but don't expect the quick reloads of a modern double action revolver; this a one at a time affair just like in 1870. Excelling in the role of "fun gun," the little Single Six can step up to "critter getter" when the need arises, especially when shooting the much more powerful, flatter shooting .22 WMRs.
