| So I am back, baby! Well, not back like I used to post battles, but I think I'll be posting some Gen 5 Pokemon battles after all. This is the first of which, which will also act as my 20000 Subscriber special since I've been too lazy to do anything else. Anyway, this is a battle against my good friend FrostyPixie, who offered to help my pop my Gen 5 Wifi cherry. Decided to use something familiar from Gen IV that changed somewhat with new Pokemon, and so I decided to build a semi-Sandstorm team, including some new Gen V Pokemon I really like! She actually brought a Rain team, starring Politoed's new amazing ability Drizzle. Which weather is more powerful? Find out! And leave a comment... that's the question of the day, too. Rules I will abide by in Gen V battles can be found here: www.smogon.com I'll also note some key changes here in Gen V Competitive battling that you should be aware of (aside from new Pokemon & Moves): 1) Teams are no longer private. Both trainers see the opponent's team before the battle, and can actually choose their starter after seeing the opponent's team. While this reduces the prediction involved in predicting what your opponent may bring, it also adds another element that its harder to pull off a "surprise" Pokemon. 2) Mechanics of Sleep have changed that power of Sleep even more. Now, when a sleeping Pokemon switches, its Sleep counter is reset. This makes it hard to wake up since you basically have to stay on the field for 1-5 turns in a row ... |
