Hilmar Von Campe: America's Nazi Future 3/4

Former Hitler Youth member and World War Two veteran Hilmar Von Campe warns that America's collective turn away from God is greasing the skids for the state to take over as the ultimate authority, threatening a repeat of the rise of National Socialism, as he warns that the Obama White House and the United States government in general now more closely embrace the political doctrines of the Nazis than they do those of the founding fathers. Von Campe explains how when he returned from the war he was determined to find out how the Germans, a relatively cultured and civil people before the rise of the Nazis, could have allowed a monster like Hitler to implement the Third Reich. Von Campe attributes the fall of Germany to the Nazis partly to "Godlessness," a collapse in moral standards, and the German people acting contrary to God's desires. Based on this revelation, he has created a formula to try and prevent countries from succumbing to tyranny in future. Von Campe explains how children were indoctrinated by the state and the education system to uphold Nazi beliefs and then spy on and inform on their parents if they didn't follow suit, as a way of breaking up families and enforcing a single ideology. He also reveals how the Nazis insisted upon discussion about religion and God being kept out of society, in the interests of ensuring that the people could not call on a higher authority than the state and therefore were less inclined to resist the Nazi takeover. Civ 5 Culture Victory - Siam (1 City 1 Worker)

Played on Prince Difficulty. (Normal) Skip to 1:17 to see all my policies. Skip to 2:28 for victory screen. Basically, I went for culture from the start. This is a regular game, I could have created more cities but I only went with one. I had a warrior and a pikesman early on to hold off some barbarians, but they ended up getting killed. Ever since then, I only had one worker. I spammed wonders, especially the ones that gave culture points. The two city states that were near me were both cultured, so they gave me bonus culture. Keeping their support wasn't hard since I always had a lot of gold to spare. The key is to gift them gold just before the relationship goes away. (it warns you when the influence will be lost) Never had a single problem with any of the other civilizations. When they asked for gold or whatever, I gave it to them. An easy but boring way to win.

In Wyoming's Kane Cave, scientists have begun to unravel a mystery that may have consequences in the debate about whether life can exist on other planets. Certain microbes that inhabit the inner recesses of this cave system survive in conditions that humans and most other organisms would find inhospitable, even deadly. These extremophiles — organisms that live in conditions outside a normal range — live mostly off simple inorganic chemical compounds such as iron and sulfur.
