| Just taking my Maxi for a ride a while ago, when i was still finetuning it all. Mostly carburettor setting issues.. I'm very happy with how the cylinder turned out, especially since alot of hours went into rigorous work, perfecting the ports' timings, sizings and shapes. It's got heaps of torque and is nice and peaky. Unfortunately the stock ignition system heavily limits the maximum RPM to around 12000 (floating ignition breakers), which is in the middle of the biggest noticeable heap of power.. :( Setup: - 45mm Airsal: Intake port resized, slightly retimed and its tunnel reworked. Exhaust port resized (way too big, oops), retimed (by a lot) and reshaped along with the tunnel itself to maximize exhaust efficiency with this port size. Transfer ports on stock timing, their aim checked and redone and the edges refined; - 38mm head, lightly shaved (an HC head would perform better, but little things like that are for later) - Dell'Orto PHBG 17.5; - Size 76 jet, second leanest throttle needle setting; - 16/45 tooth sprockets, 171cm wheel circumference - Kreidler RS exhaust |
