The Rebel Yell Lives: Part II - Reenactors Charge Forward

This video, the second of two parts, shows some of the results of the Museum of the Confederacy's rebel yell project. Historical reenactor Henry Kidd shares how he has used "The Rebel Yell Lives" CD to teach fellow reenactors the authentic rebel yell. Also included is footage of Mr. Kidd instructing 400 members of Longstreet's Corps at the 145th Anniversary Reenactment of the Battle of Cedar Creek in Middletown, Virginia.

Gettysburg & Back: 2nd South Carolina String Band; SOUTHERN SOLDIER

This great live string band performed at The 145th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg in 2008, at a farm just north of the battlefield where a reenactment was held. (Hey 2nd SCSB, please come and perform in Chicago!) PLEASE NOTE: This video is posted for the purpose of enjoying the history of the Civil War, and not because I personally support the confederacy, etc.. My Great, great Grandfather was a Union soldier who fought to preserve the Union and to emancipate the slaves, a fact of which I am very proud. (Racist comments will be removed)

Yankee Doodle and Gerryowen

The Excelsior Brigade Fife and Drum corps performs Yankee Doodle (old into new) and Gerryowen during the 2006 Hamlin Beach State Park reenactment. Yanks pronounce this tune "Garry Owen" as if it were some guy's name. note corrected title, thanks to the commenters for their feedback.

Civil War Music- Southern Version of The Battle Cry of Freedom

I was born and raised in the south but had never heard this southern version of this very popular tune until these very talented young musicians gave this rendition at a Civil War reenactment in Houston, Missouri in the fall of 2010. The Yankees are trying to win by controlling the media. But it is still to early to tell.
