Radiohead - Anyone Can Play Guitar [Live at The Astoria]

Radiohead, playing "Anyone can play Guitar", from PABLO HONEY. Radiohead, in the "Live at the Astoria" concert on 27 May 1994, notable mainly for its collection of songs that would not appear until the release of THE BENDS, ten months later. It is also Radiohead's only concert home video/DVD to date. This dvd captures Radiohead playing an absolutely amazing gig. The quality of the performance is remarkable - Thom Yorke's soaring voice, Jonny Greenwood's frantic yet precise lead guitar, Ed O'Brien's haunting atmospheric sound. The tightness and balance of the band is awe-inspiring. The gig features songs from Pablo Honey and The Bends (plus a few others). These are Radiohead's more 'conventional, pre-experimental' songs, which will appeal to any fans of current UK rock music. They feature catchy melodies, great lyrics and amazing, powerful instrumentals. Director: Brett Turnbull.

For eons the struggle to control and maintain power over our world has existed. Those with strength have often sought to control the weak. With no other recourse the fragile and frail prayed to the heavens to send them a champion, one who could be dominated by no other. For an untold number of years the weak made their feeble cries, only to go unanswered.... Until one dark, cold, winter, in the dead of night, a bright flash followed by a loud bang could be heard. As Atum address the people, he told them that they have come to rid their land of tyranny and persecution, and with that, the Hieratics took flight and headed to the castle of the monarch that had been oppressing them. For months the Hieratics destroyed all those who held any strength or might and one day they returned to the village. As the villagers rejoiced, Atum let out a thunderous roar. The pyramids are structures of such awe-inspiring dimensions that many people across the centuries have found it hard to credit its creation to human beings. music: aria artist: acker bilk my comments about this video I believe in the creation account in Genesis and although I am sure those who think otherwise could ask me questions to which I could not give adequate answers, this in no way would change my faith that all we see anywhere in the universe - on earth or out in the vastness of space has been created by the God of the bible. I do not know how the universe ends - in a way I am not too bothered - it would be interesting to know but not vital - the important thing for me is having an inner assurance that God created it at a word by his son Jesus Christ and this video actually makes me stand in awe of the majesty of God and more than that I feel not a little tearful that God who created all this beauty sent Jesus Christ to this world to save sinners and that I am not only known personally to him, but for reasons known only to him, he so worked in my heart that with the hymnist I can truly say " you ask me how I know he lives - he lives within my heart". Not having intellectual understanding of many things cannot affect that nor take me away from him.
