The watchmakers Urwerk and MB&Friends, are among the few companies who invent new watch mechanisms with every new watch. About URWERK: It was the teaming in 1995 of two watch making brothers, Felix and Thomas Baumgartner and artist friend Martin Frei. They share a passion for measuring and portraying time. Inspired by the 17 century Campanus Night clock, the team decided to present time by removing all extraneous indications and distractions. The name Urwerk consists of two references. Ur is the city where giant sundials where built 6000 years ago, and the 12 units of time were conceived. In the German language, 'werk' means to work or create. URWERK SA was launched in 1997 with one overriding aim: to follow nobody but to create their own path in pushing the boundaries of haute horlogerie ever further. They presented their first timepiece with the AHCI at Basel that same year. About MB&F: -MB&F is a creative laboratory developing three-dimensional high-end timepieces with collaborations of horological artisans and artists. Founded by Maximilian Büsser, the brand is based in Geneva, Switzerland. Il volo di Alinghi - Alinghi5 helicopter lift - Alinghi 5 geht in die Luft (2009)

7 August 2009 Alinghi5 helicopter lift: from Geneva to Genoa - L'insolito volo di un scafo di Coppa America, quello di Alinghi 5, si è concluso al 14.25 quando il catamarano del team svizzero inventato da Ernesto Bertarelli ha toccato l'acqua davanti a Genova. Il viaggio era cominciato in mattinata: alle 9,15 lo scafo del catamarano è decollato da Le Bouveret, sul lago di Ginevra, in Svizzera, appeso a un elicottero da trasporto russo, l'MI26, il più grande e potente del mondo. Poco dopo è partito anche l'albero (52 metri di lunghezza e 2 tonnellate di peso). Molte le barche in acqua a Genova con abordo appassionati decisi a godersi la scena dell'arrivo, così come tantissimi erano i curiosi che hanno affollato i moli. Uno spettacolo di moderna tecnologia imposto da regole nate nel 1857 che impongono la costruzione delle imbarcazioni nel paese di origine dei partecipanti. - Alinghi 5 geht in die Luft (7-8-2009)

Kennedy State Department Auditorium Washington, DC April 24, 1963 QUESTION: Mr. President, with Laos boiling up, could you assess for us the relative threats posed to the United States by the Soviet Union and Red China? THE PRESIDENT: No, I think it would be a mistake to attempt to make that assessment on this occasion. We have difficult problems in Southeast Asia. They directly involve, of course, the Soviet Union, as the Soviet Union is the Co-Chairman, and is also as I have already said a signatory to the Geneva Accord. It has assumed in the past a special responsibility for the maintenance of a neutral and independent Laos, in the Vienna statement which the Chairman and I made in June of 1961, committing ourselves to that result. We have also been conscious of the threat to the security of independent countries of Asia and Southeast Asia, which has been made quite clear by the Chinese, so I would say that we have serious problems with them both. We would hope that the Soviet Union would make an effort to fulfill its commitments under the Geneva Accord as the United States is attempting to do.
