"The Bad World Tour" was the first world concert tour by Michael Jackson as a solo artist, covering Japan, Australia, United States and Europe from September 12, 1987 to January 27, 1989. The tour, sponsored by PepsiCo and spanning 16 months, included 123 concerts to 4.4 million fans across 15 countries. When the tour concluded it grossed a total of $125 million, adding two new entries in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest grossing tour in history and the tour with the largest attended audience. In the United States alone, where just 54 concerts were held, the tour came in as the 6th largest grossing tour from 1988-89, grossing a total of $20.3 million. In April 1989, the tour was nominated for "Tour of the Year 1988" at the inaugural International Rock Awards. The tour lost to Amnesty International, but nothing could detract from the fact that Jackson's first solo tour was the largest and most successful in history. At every concert (at least in the United States) Jackson made sure that 400 tickets were reserved for underprivileged children. euronews focus - TV: the dinosaur of the digital age?

The programs we see on our screens, whether documentaries or soap operas, quiz programmes or films, are produced in various countries around the world. However there is one place where all of those working in this sector meet up. MipTv, in Cannes, France. It is the largest event of its kind in the world, and over 11000 people from over 100 countries gather in Cannes to buy and sell TV shows. It is a huge market for the television. But how well does this market work? And what products can be found here? Anne de Kerckhove, Director of Entertainment Division at Reed MIDEM told euronews about the event: "So, here it's all about TV. It's where your future police series, detective stories, love romances, telenovelas, reality TV shows, all these shows get discovered here, sold to over 100 countries. It's where really all the makers of the best TV come together and trade each other series and launch new exciting products for the TV". But the economic crisis has hit companies hard, and all now have to deal with certain financial constraints. This makes co-production a very popular money saving option, and many come to Cannes to find a partner who can help finance their projects. How To Make Rainbow Cookies!

This recipe makes about 60 cookies. These not-too-sweet cookies are soft with a slight crunch and have just a hint of cream cheese flavour in them. They stay fresh in a cookie jar or container for quite a while. You can use any cookie dough recipe that is labelled "refrigerator or icebox" or that in the instructions you must roll, refrigerate and slice prior to baking. The dough is sticky and need to be chilled to work with. ***Dough will be sticky, you will wonder how in the heck you will manage it, but keep chilling it and it will be fine ***** 1/2 cup butter, softened 1/2 cup shortening 1- 3 oz package cream cheese softened 2/3 cup sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1 egg 1/2 tsp almond extract (or vanilla extract or any other extract you want to try) 2 cups all purpose flour Combine butter, shortening and cream cheese in a large bowl, beat together until smooth. Add sugar and salt. Beat until combined. Beat in egg and almond extract until combined and gradually add the flour beating until combined. Form dough into a ball with your hands, if it is super sticky, put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Turn dough out onto countertop and form a long log shape divide the dough into 6 portions. I initially divided the dough into five portions and then took some dough off each piece for the sixth one. Each portion should be slightly larger (by, lets say 20%) so you have a range in sized from smaller to larger. Sorry, I don't have a better description of this process or better ...
