The episode opened with Quinn revealing to Rachel that she was going to out Puck and Shelby and tell principal Figgens. Rachel warns her not to cause trouble, but you can tell Quinn has her mind set on in. Rachel and Finn then travel to Kentucky searching for Sam because they want to bring him back to New Directions. Thinking they'll find him working in dinner theater, they're shocked to see he's actually a male stripper! After some convincing, he makes his triumphant return to McKinley with the song Red Solo Cup. He also makes the moves on his ex fling Mercedes, saying he still has feelings for her...and it seems the feelings might be mutual! Tina is doing everything she can to encourage Mike to apply to dance schools and pursue his dream, and he tells her he's obeying his father by applying to Stanford pre med. She then goes to talk to his father, telling him how talented Mike is and that he should honor that. Blaine finally stands up to Finn and asks what his problem is, and Finn decides to stop being so cold, and says they need to work as a team if they're gonna win sectionals. At the competition, the Trouble Tones rock the house with a mash up of I Will Survive and Survivor, and New Directions tops them with their triple threat of ABC, Control and Man In the Mirror.
