Hundreds of mourners gathered today to pay tribute to a brother and sister murdered in a deliberate fire at their home in Helensburgh. The mother of Bridget and Thomas Sharkey, who was the sole survivor of the blaze, joined friends and family for the funeral service which was described as a celebration of the lives of her precious children. In other news; A man has been killed in a gangland execution in Neilston. 48-year-old John Finnigan, who was shot in the face, had just dropped his daughter off at a Halloween party . He was described by police as "no angel" and it's thought he was deliberately targeted as part of an ongoing feud. And in sport; Neil Lennon admits he asked a lot of questions about himself during his most barren spell as Celtic manager but says he loved every minute of it. The Parkhead boss says it's not just his team's character that has been tested in recent weeks, but believes he and his players are turning the corner. In other news: a Dundee man is facing a jail sentence after borrowing a friend's car and finding half a kilo of heroin behind the seat; a pensioner has escaped unscathed after a fire at his home in Dundee; a violent prisoner who allegedly absconded from Castle Huntly Open Prison has been arrested by police.
