Jamal 'Gravy' Woolard has BIG shoes to fill in the new movie Notorious

Jamal Woolard really had some Big shoes to fill in playing the role of the late rapper the Notorious BIG, and he did just that. He pulled off an excellent performance and took the time to sit down and talk to me about it in this candid 1-on-1 interview with rapper/ actor Jamal 'Gravy' Woolard. No, that's not the Notorious BIG That's Jamal Woolard, who has just been cast by Fox Searchlight to play him, Christopher Wallace, aka Biggie Smalls, in the upcoming biopic Notorious. Man, the only possible critique I could come up with is that his eyebrows are a little dark. That's some spot-on casting. They're definitely not Dead Wrong. Voletta Wallace, Smalls' mom, is happy with the casting as well: "it was Jamal's charming personality, warm spirit, wonderful sense of humor and beautiful smile that won my heart. He is a talented and charismatic actor and I am excited that he will bring Christopher's character to the big screen." Topping that off, Woolard also has the real-life experience to make this pop. THR adds to the press release, explaining that Jamal is a drug-dealer-turned-rapper just like Wallace was. Under the directorial eye of George Tillman Jr., we've got Woolard as Wallace, Angela Bassett as Voletta, Derek Luke as Sean Combs, and Anthony Mackie as Tupac Shakur. One Killed in Fall River, MA Crash- Rt 24 (04-25-11)

Fall River — At noon today, Massachusetts State Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 24 northbound, south of Exit 8, in Fall River. The female operator of the vehicle, Alexandra Medeiros, 20, of Fall River was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Preliminary investigation by Trooper Lori-Ann Wheaton indicates that a 2002 Nissan Altima operated by Maderios was traveling northbound when it went off the road and crashed into the wood line, causing the engine to catch fire trapping Madeiros in the wreckage Three troopers working a road construction detail on Route 79 in Fall River heard the radio dispatch to the crash and responded. Those troopers extinguished the engine fire. The driver was extricated from the car by Fall River firefighters using the Jaws of Life. Troopers from the State Police Barracks in Dartmouth also responded. The Madeiros was transported by ambulance to Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, where she was pronounced deceased. Troopers are investigating excessive speed as a possible factor in the crash. The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Troop D of the Massachusetts State Police with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. To accommodate the rescue response and crash investigation, two northbound lanes on Route 24 in the area of the crash, as well as the Highland Avenue off-ramp, were closed for 20 minutes ...

The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in April 1962 by guitarist and harmonica player Brian Jones, pianist Ian Stewart, vocalist Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards. Bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts completed the early lineup. American R&B and blues cover songs dominated The Rolling Stones' early material, but from the start they have included rock and roll in their repertoire. The Rolling Stones are credited for raising the international regard for the primitive blues typified by Chess Records' artists such as Muddy Waters, who wrote Rollin' Stone, the song after which the band is named. Jones initially led the band, but after forming a songwriting team, Jagger and Richards assumed leadership. By 1969, as Jones contributions to the had greatly diminished, his inability to tour the United States for legal and health reasons lead to him leaving the band, and he was replaced by Mick Taylor. Three weeks after his departure, Jones drowned to death. Taylor quit in 1974 and was replaced by Ronnie Wood. Wyman retired from the band in 1993, and his replacement Darryl Jones became the primary bassist, but not a full member. Stewart was taken from the official lineup in 1963 to continue as the band's road manager and occasional keyboardist until his death in 1985. Old Time Racing (Part 1) - NASCAR at Peace Haven Speedway 1953-54

This 8mm film shows early NASCAR racing at Peace Haven Speedway, aka Winston-Salem Speedway on April 27, 1953 and April 19, 1954. Peace Haven Speedway was one of the first NASCAR tracks started by Bill France and Alvin Hawkins, with a date on the inaugural championship tour on Oct. 31, 1948. And with drivers like Curtis Turner and Fonty Flock, it held the record as the fastest half mile dirt track in NASCAR from 1948 to 1950, and again in 1952. The film consists of mixed clips from 1953 and '54 of the Sportsman and Amateur divisions. Shorty York won the Sportsman feature in the 1953 race while Joe Kirby won the Amateur feature after Ralph Harpe was disqualified. Ted Swaim driving the JS Pope #99 won the Sportsman feature in '54, with Whitey Norman winning the Amateur feature after starting at the end of the field. Sloop wijkplannen bereikt laatste woning

NEEDE -- Nadat eerder dit jaar al een flink aantal woningen in de steigers is geplaatst voor onderhoudswerkzaamheden, zijn ook de sloopkranen in De Berg en De Koppel actief (geweest). Vanaf half oktober is RGS Slooptechnieken in de wijken bezig met de sloop van meerdere woningen. De planning was om alle woningen uit fase 1 voor het einde van 2010 te slopen. De vorst heeft de werkzaamheden enigszins vertraagd. Afgelopen donderdag 20 januari is de laatste woning uit fase 1 van de wijkplannen gesloopt. Het betrof de woning aan de H. ten Broekestraat 24 in Neede. Onder toeziend oog van wethouder Leo Scharenborg nam manager Vastgoed van ProWonen Jan Stoel plaats in de kraan om de laatste woning vakkundig tegen de grond te werken.
