| Dewer's Scotch Whisky is supporting the TEDGlobal 2011 conference, which is being held in Edinburgh for the first time from July 11th - 15th July 2011. The theme for the conference is "The Stuff of Life" and the world-class, inspirational speakers include: philosopher Alain de Botton, anti-torture activist Karen Tse, pianist and composer Balazs Havasi, brain scientist Allan Jones and actress Thandie Newton. Speakers are challenged to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes or less to the 850 delegates attending the conference. Talks are then made available, free, at www.TED.com. Previous TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Benoit Mandelbrot, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Dewer's Signature Artist Hugh MacLeod will be attending the week long event and creating unique works of art each day to reflect his own thoughts on the conference talks. Hugh MacLeod is a well-known US-based cartoonist, who specializes in publishing fine art prints via the internet and was one of the first artists to create a presence in the social media world.
