| A video showing off gameplay from the Stainless Steel mod for M2TW kingdoms (earlier versions also available for M2TW basic). You'll note the map expanded to the east, the newer and better icons and textures, and more traits. I don't show any combat gameplay here since all of the few battles I fought were heavily canted in my favor, so it would be nothing less than a waste of time to lead personally. I'm playing as the Grand Duchy of Kiev, one of the two Russian factions in SS6.4 (you could count the Cumans as "Russian", though, given that they originate from the Steppes. I wouldn't.) I love this mod and recommend it to anyone who plays M2TW, as it adds a massive amount of content, complexity, difficulty, etc to M2TW, with a lot of extra options. SS6.3 added multiple campaigns alongside the much expanded campaign with more accurate factions, more realism (for instance, attrition and supply lines). BftB2, from what I can tell, added a new regional campaign (analagous to the Teutonic campaign that comes with Kingdoms), as well as new textures and units. This gameplay vid is SS6.4/BftB2, running the Savage AI script, and Byg's Grim Reality II (I tried version IV, but found that it made M2TW immensely more difficult. I was bankrupt within four turns with that activated) |
