| The Burj Dubai will be completed in September, and at that time will be the tallest building in the world at 818 m. To put that into perspective, the Sears Tower is a measly 442 m- the Burj is nearly twice as tall. The world's current tallest building in Tapei is only 452 m. The CN Tower, a tower and not a building with people in it, is only 553 m. The Petronius Platform rests on the ocean floor, and reaches only 610 m. Nothing on Earth made by humans reaches even close to the height of the Burj. Another way to think of it is that, each of those sections you see here would be the height of a medium skyscraper in their own right. Those cranes you see near the top are full-size cranes. |
