| Rostrum and travelling matte demo reel. Various objects shot on a programmable video rostrum, from rings to Christmas trees! Many were shot with a 'travelling matte', by repeating the move with the object lit as a silhouette to give a linear matte representing transparency. This gives much better compositing results compared to chromakey, since there are no limits on foreground colours, no coloured fringing, and transparency and focus can be used creatively. Objects such as the rings, phones, keyboard were mounted on an angled sheet of glass, along with an angled camera which gives rotation in another plane |
