Venus Jupiter and Moon Conjunction HD Timelapse Star Trails 2-25-2012

Here are a few interesting views of this astonomical event in high definition timelapse, including composited star trails using techniques developed by JCM Digital Imaging. Filmed with a Canon 5D Mk2 and 17mm-40mm wide angle f/4.0L lens from Santa Clarita, CA. Images were taken every 8 seconds using a 7-second exposure at f4 and ISO4000 to capture all the stars visible in this somewhat light-polluted area. Home built generator battery charger using Permanent Magnet Alternator 6.5 hp engine

PMA Permanent Magnet Alternator Generator 6.5 hp Engine Battery Charger This is a 175 amp (rated) permanent magnet alternator being powered by a 6.5 hp Lifan horizontal shaft engine purchased at Harbor Freight. This is the first iteration and I believe the pulley on the engine could be larger which would allow the engine to be almost at an idle and still put out well over 25 amps. In the current configuration, it outputs about 30 amps at only partial throttle. At full throttle it pegs the 50 amp meter, so I have no idea what it is really putting into the battery at the full 3600 rpm that the engine is capable of. The initial problem with the setup was that the PMA came with a pulley size of about 2 3/4" and the engine was spinning it WAY too fast. Another video contributor on YouTube, STUCKINWAWA, advised me that a 7" pulley on the PMA would work better and he was right. The big problem with that is that the PMA has a 17mm shaft and I didn't own a 17mm drill to open up the 7" pulley bore. A little time on the lathe with a boring bar and the problem was solved. I also had to reduce the thickness of the cast-iron pulley on the lathe. This setup should charge a battery in short order once the pulley sizes are maximized for the engine horsepower. I plan to run everything on my boat dock with this unit, a battery, and a 6000 watt inverter to provide plenty of AC. A Fusion session we did in Perth had us covering basically 80% of the most famous spots in Perth.We really had fun shooting Chun & Helen as we had so many interesting locations and lighting condition to play with.Suhaimi & SHakir was shooting photo,me & Erwan was shooting video.We thought of a very simple storyline that would relate back to the couple.Simple, they just love to picnic and love to travel! First real outdoor Jib Arm Test on our KesslerCrane Gear

this is a small testrun we´ve made with our new little self made jib arm to use it for some crane shots in future productions. we´ve tested how smooth the moves are in real outdoor situations in use with the kesslercrane cineslider, revolution head and the oracle controller for real time motion control shots. the first test with the jib arm runs out great. we tried to build the jib arm as lightweight as we could to being able to use the jib arm with the revolution head. we´re limited in some movements but for some things it´s great. at this time we´re also limited to use this jib arm for timelapse. there is a little bit more "thinking work" on this. but we´re working on to make it work in the future.
