Adele - Rolling in the Deep - Chinese Zither Cover 古筝版(REMASTERED)

Due to popular request, here are some mp3s of alternative edits: - clean: www.mediafire.com - mild mix: www.mediafire.com - less boom: www.mediafire.com - original from the video: www.mediafire.com ---- This Guzheng (Chinese Zither) cover of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" was so incredibly awesome that I just had to remaster it. I downloaded the original clip from Youku (a 7.68 MB flv file) and then upscaled the video to 720p, cleaned it up, warmed the colors, after which I remastered the audio to make it crisp and clean. A few compressors and EQs later things really came together and the beauty of this cover was no longer muddied by the original recording conditions. After all that treatment the clip grew 48 times in size, to 370 MB. It doesn't look as sharp as a HD recording because no matter how much you polish a 480x320 image you simply can't recreate detail that wasn't captured in the first place. All you can do is minimize the image artifacts and make it scale better on big screens. The sound was easier to salvage because even a cheap mic can record good enough mid-highs if they're powerful enough. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy listening to this as much as I did! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original video is found here: v.youku.com More covers/Guzheng versions from the same musician: i.youku.com The instrumental track I used for the remastered sound mix is from here: www.youtube.com

Imagine that thousands of armed foreign troops were constantly patrolling American streets in military vehicles. Imagine they were here under the auspices of "keeping us safe" or "promoting democracy" or "protecting their strategic interests." Imagine that they operated outside of US law, and that the Constitution did not apply to them. Imagine that every now and then they made mistakes or acted on bad information and accidentally killed or terrorized innocent Americans, including women and children, most of the time with little to no repercussions or consequences. Signs of trouble in China's soaring skyline?

China's strong consumer base has kept the country stable in times of global economic uncertainty. But alternative economic indicators may now be pointing to tougher financial times for the world's second-biggest economy. The country's towering skyline, made up of plenty of new but vacant buildings, is a sure indicator for many that it is heading for trouble. Half of all the world's skyscrapers currently under construction are in China. And like New York in the run-up to the Wall Street crash of 1929, or Dubai before the 2008 financial collapse, analysts point to the link between building for pride and an impending economic fall. Al Jazeera's Rob McBride reports from Hong Kong.

China's Xi harvests some 'heartland diplomacy'

While on the second leg of his tour of the United States, Xi Jingping, China's vice president and presumptive next leader, revealed some surprising ties to the state of Iowa. This was Xi's second visit to the state; his first was 27 years ago, when he was part of a Chinese delegation studying farm technology. It is now hoped that Xi's "heartland diplomacy" will translate into warmer Sino-US ties. Al Jazeera's John Hendren reports from Muscatine, Iowa.

Little-known past of China's 'next leader'

The People's Republic of China is preparing for a once-in-a-decade transition of power. When president and Communist Party chief Hu Jintao ends his 10 years in charge he is expected to be replaced by 57-year-old Xi Jinping. Though his official biography extolls his virtues as a good party official with a strong work ethic who comes from a family with solid revolutionary credentials, little else is known about him. Al Jazeera's Melissa Chan went to a remote village in China's Shaanxi Province to learn more about his upbringing.
