| With its incredibly slim profile and lightweight design, the new UX series sets a new precedent in style and ultra-mobility. Two models will be available: an 11.6 inch UX21 and a 13.3 inch UX31. The precise profile of both models is just 3mm to 17mm. Despite its extreme slimness, the UX still packs a second generation Core i7 mobile CPU, a SATA 6Gbps SSD and a USB 3 port. Instant On is a new feature designed to hibernate the notebook safely, by backing up the data to the SSD just in case the battery runs out while it sleeps. However, it's still able to resume within seconds for up to several days, perfectly matching its ultra-mobile roots. ASUS has previously experimented with alternative materials such as bamboo, however the new UX is entirely built from aluminium to not only make it extremely lightweight, but also hardwearing and infinitely elegant. Its cover is anodized with a spun, brushed finish that's not just beautiful to look at but also provides just enough tactile sensation for grip as well. |
