This "washes" all the bad contaminates out of the circuitry. Swish it around in the rubbing alcohol. Alcohol has a lower boiling point than water or whatever other gunk you dropped your phone in. You want it to replace ALL the nasty salts, chemicals or anything else away. Then put it in a tupperware full of instant rice. Don't bury it you dont want grains getting all up in it. The rice will absorb all the moisture - which at this point should be only rubbing alcohol. Put a lid on it. Let it sit for at least 3 days!!!!!!!! do not get anxious! do not "test" it! every moment it is wet and you connect the battery you are ruining your phone. Repeat the process, the nastier the solution you dropped it in the more repeats. This can take 9 days - but you will get your phone back up and running
