The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II 1953 and The Children's

ANOTHER CHILDREN'S CORONATION, a full scale re-enactment of THE QUEEN'S CORONATION OF 1953, will be performed in ST MAWES on 4TH JUNE 2012. Everyone is welcome to our village in Cornwall to see this magnificent spectacle complete with an 8'6" tall Gold State Coach. _________________________________________ A detailed re-enactment of The Queen's Coronation, called The Children's Coronation, took place on 3rd June 2002 in Cornwall, as the principal event in the Jubilee celebrations of the Parish of St Just in Roseland. It was performed on the Quay in St Mawes by nine and ten year old children from St Mawes School, together with a few adults. Villagers created a 2.5m tall golden Coronation Coach, to be pulled by members of the Gig Club, a Coronation Chair, authentic dresses, robes and regalia and principal items of the Crown Jewels. Boalsburg is the birthplace of Memorial Day and celebrates with a festival each year and for the last 148 years, with decorating graves.

Often mooted as the most haunted village in England, this picturesque Kentish village is certainly steeped in ghost stories, whether based on actual sightings or just modern folklore. Its reputation as a ghost village is not without its problems and the village can be a magnet to thrill seekers and also those with a genuine interest in the paranormal, especially around Halloween. While this may be a bonus to local businesses it does not come without its own pressures and there has been an increased police presence in the village around Halloween due to the sheer number of visitors. While every village and town has its fair share of ghosts stories, close scrutiny of Pluckley's ghosts show many to have dubious origins. What follows is a brief outline of Pluckley's most popular ghosts. The Highwayman - At Fright Corner (once Frith Corner), an unknown highwayman was reputedly ambushed by either the law or other criminals and killed with a sword, pinning him to a hollow oak tree that once stood in this area. In some accounts there was a fight between the highwayman and his attackers and in others he was hiding in the hollow tree and was pierced when a sword was pushed into the hollow. Adventures of the Prince_of_Macedon #09: "Reenactment of Dade Battle"

This was my trip to Bushnell, Florida, for the annual re-enactment of the "Dade Battle" (known in history as the "Dade Massacre"). The Dade Battle was fought in 1835. In this battle, Major Dade led 110 US soldiers on a march from present-day Tampa up to reinforce the US garrison at present-day Ocala. They were shadowed by 180 Seminole warriors.
