Yes it does. In fact, it makes PERFECT sense and it is the greatest story EVER told in the history of cinema. Altho it requires certain amount of esoteric understanding in order to see it and truly appreciate it...that´s why when it was shown in some movie festivals half of the audience either booed or walked away in the middle of the story. And ofcourse half of the movie critics did not understand it at all lol. FOOLS! Anyway, I heartily recommend to give it a second go ;) Perfect Masterpiece !

Let me reiterate for you, as you are clearly intellectually impaired. The original idea for The Fountain was canned after going massively overbudget. Subsequently Aronofsky rewrote the story, ending up with the version we know from which both comic AND the final film were made. The comic was completed and published in advance of the film's release, this makes it the ORIGINAL RELEASE FORMAT. That's a straight fact. If you can't understand that, then I pity you.
