when u buy a gibson (or fender ect.), it's not just like ur buying a guitar in the sake of the play-ability, it's an alive, beautiful piece of history. it's the story behind it sells. if people like gadgets on guitar rather than the story, then there's alot other options out there. but keep in mind that les paul's, sg', explorer, tele's, strat's and all clasic guitars are the blue print of modern day guitars, they reserve a high level of respect.

Im sorry, but Gibsons are so bloody expensive for what they are, you could get a few custom hand made guitar for the cost of some Gibsons, I own a Gibson SG that i picked up for £400 and treasure it to the hills, but would NEVER buy a brand new Gibson, brands such as Hagstrom are chucking out amazing quality instruments at the moment, i would rather spend £400-500 on a hagstrom and chuck a nice pair of pups in it than £1000+ for something with Gibson printed on the headstock, its crazy.

it was in the related when I logged in , bored I guess I don't get why do people defend this brand and are so loyal to them. If you know what you're doing you can find a guitar like a gibson for way less then some people only own 2 or 3 guitars in their lifetime but besides the point its all mind over matter if its that expensive it must be good marketing. I buy guitars a lot and extensively play them in quiet environments to base these opinions i can say stuff about lots of other companies too

gibsons not endgame for the ultimate tone or quality many people have a hard time grasping this. Set neck guitars you can ask any pro not getting paid or endorsed , had someone with a Dean Cowboys from Hell (dimebag signature) last week say his neck snapped, if he had a bolt on or neckthrough he'd still be playing it. go with ESP / LTD, Jackson, if you plan on spending 2000+ go with a real custom shop fuck gibson, its mind over matter thinking we're getting the best spending 2000+ on a guitar

I own a couple of ...
I own a couple of gibsons and ltds. Ltds are great deals. Affordable and play great but nothing beats the craftsmanship of a Gibson. And most of my ltds have had their emgs switched out with Gibson 57's 490r's, 498t's, and burst buckers. I think I've only kept the emgs in my ec1000 haha

oh no his winning card is out , i can't afford them, what are you 40..50, bet you bought them used too. By the time I was 21 I had half as many guitars as that doesn't make either of us better. With the money you wasted you should have just bought lottery tickets, cheap beer or go to see nascars specs on the guitar over brand any serious musician will tell you this, just because it costs more doesn't make it better, go with a LTD EC-1000 CTM, a realistic priced/better gibson les paul custom

stop looking at the brand(s) or where the guitars made, go in a dark room you usually cry and fuck yourself in and try out some imports and brands made besides the "almighty" Gibson, see and hear a difference if your head isnt too far up your ass. set neck guitars necks snap way more than any, why gibson makes so few 25.5 scale , 24 fret guitars that aren't setneck is beyond me. Know what the placebo effect is and of course don't compare an cheap LTD to a 2000$ les paul, oh well fuck gibson

All bias intended but... This is all "how good we are" and who plays our instruments. When you go watch the making of Paul Reed Smith, or Ibanez for example, it's more about the product, and more personal. No hate to Gibson, just seems... poor.

Gibson are such great quality.. The first good guitar I ever had was an Explorer and in the ten years I've been playing, I still see Gibson as the best. I just got a Les Paul Custom the other day and it is such a stunning instrument. I really only like Gibson and the custom shop ESP guitars. Everything else just seems like a toy..

also.. setneck guitars break more than any kind of guitar, this means Gibsons aren't going to last as long as say a bolt on not going to name brands so this is pretty much all gibsons compared to a dual trussrod LTD 1000 series or whatever....could be worse though like Ibanez.
