Hi Frenzy, I've ...

Hi Frenzy, I've read several times it's all depending on how the base primer coat applied reveals the best results for this Alclad paint. I'd like to know what's that gloss black lacquer base paint you used for this video, cause so far you did that really quick but still it came out as you said it would, perfect. Or would any gloss black do?

Thanks for that great advice, I just get silver, Ill have to try putting on less as you say. On the Alclad clear coat, how does that react with decals? I generally build racing cars that have loads of decals and am looking for a decent clear coat that can go over the top of everything

I've just completed ...

I've just completed an amazing paintjob on a 1/48 Scale B-29 Superfortress using Alcad II Laquers. I painted each panel separately. It took MONTHS. Looks incredible. I did have some trouble with the chrome, which dosen't like to be masked. I will Klear Kote it first next time but lesson learned. A mask is ESSENTIAL. I neglected to use one once and suffered A torrential nosebleed at three in the morning. Definately dangerous so take heed. However, that said, Great product, great finishes.

Tony, Thank you ...

Tony, Thank you SOOOO much for bringing ALSA to my attention. I saved their site to my favorites. The products they produce and the new paint and coating technologies they are developing are TOP of the industry, hands down. 2nd to NONE. Thank you again.

-Stelios, you're ...

-Stelios, you're making an unfair comparison. It should be "apples to apples". ALSA Chrome is "high end" and designed for actual chrome work on automobiles, motorcycles, commercial parts,. Alclad is designed for scale model work. ALSA can be used for scale model work as well, however, it is FAR MORE expensive than Alclad and typically too costly for scale modelers. Just want to keep this in perspective.

Alclad offers 4 ...

Alclad offers 4 transparent tints that work quite well. Just Google Alclad's home website (I can't post it here as Youtube's webside blocks it). I've been using Alclad for years and have had good success with it. Remember to spray it with a fine needle and up close. Don't use a wide fan. Mist it on in thin coats. Spray it as if you were using a slim paint brush. Thin, even coats yield excellent results.
