Ferries, Bridges, Boats to Port Orchard

I was stationed in Bremerton in the early 80's and really liked going to port orchard, very quaint city. I recently went back in the summer of 2011 and was shocked at how run down the downtown area had become. Lots of closed stores and almost nowhere to get a good meal. I guess that fate is similar in a lot of small towns nowadays.

I live in Port Orchard and I have never seen any of this stuff.It rains all the time and there are very few jobs here.I really dont like it here.I stay off of Lund Road in Port Orchard.Its not a bad town if your retired and have alot of money.my wife is in the navy and and moving from san diego to here is a major downgrade.now seattle is a different story..they have all the jobs and it is a better place to leave.to bad its to far from the naval base

I've done that! My best friend lives in Port Orchard and I had the chance to come and visit him from Utah in 2009. The place is beautiful! We loved riding the ferries from Seattle to Bremerton. We got to see plenty of cool and picture perfect places. One was Point No Point beach. We hope to go back and visit again. Thanks for putting this up, brought back some good memories.

I also grew up there and found plenty to do without getting into any trouble as a teen. I moved away a few years ago because I thought I needed a change. Moved to Las Vegas and now would give just about anything to move back :(

They made port orchard look better than it is. Bu the concerts at the pavillion down by the marina are cool. But the high school sucks. we need another one around here, its way too crowded in there.

I was born in Spokane but this has become more of a home to me than any other place. I'm 20 now and love the rich history that this beautiful place has to offer. Like JeffWilliams92 has commented, if you do not like it here then get out.

Propoganda? It's all real people and places in the video, mate. Maybe you need to develop some interests. If your feet still work there are lots of great hikes, lakes, biking trails. Turn off the video games and start experiencing the world around you. Find a good cause and volunteer. Port Orchard has room for improvement, but the most important improvement comes from within.
