I would need a full model number to be sure but many use two pressure clips that are a few inches in from the sides at the seam between the top and the front of the cabinet. You need to press them toward the back of the washer with a putty knife while you lift the top. (sometimes difficult) You may be able to see them with a flashlight on the seam. If that is your style of washer the mechanics are completely different than the one in this video.

The tub may be out ...
The tub may be out of position on the lower slide plate but most likely the spring on the back left of the washer has broken or come loose. I have another video about the tub and suspension posted that will show you all about that part of the washer. Thanks for the comment!

I have a whirlpool thin twin (an older model) and the whole inside is tilted sideways and seems to be only half way connected to the inside of the washer. Any easy fixes for this, or should I replace it? Thanks in advance!
If it is blowing ...
If it is blowing the circuit breaker there is most likely a short somewhere in the washer's electrical system. It may be in the timer but it can also be somewhere else. You will need to know how to use a multimeter for checking continuity. You will also need to know how to read a wire diagram. If the washer is in good condition visually, and you are not comfortable with tracking down a short you may want to call a tech to troubleshoot it. It's not as easy as a lid switch or motor coupling:(

I'm having the same Issue. It is a Kenmore 80, made by Whirlpool. It does nothing now except the timer buzzes and blows the circuit breaker.

Sorry for the slow response...busy few days. Take a look at my other video "Whirlpool, Maytag, Sears Kenmore Appliance Washer Tub and Suspension Repair Video" it is probably the tub spring in the back of the washer that has ether broken or cut through the frame. hope that helps!

Mod.# LTE5243DQ6... the tub is leaning and is hard to balance And I can't afford a Hundred bucks right now for the spring support kit.. they look loose from the frame any help whould be greatly appreciated....
