I don't wanna seem a smart ass asshole or anything, but i believe it was because of the complicated firing mechanism. Because trhe receiver recoils inside the rifle, it was necessary to create some sort of "feeding lip" and tilt the mag that way so the round could be chambered properly. Some of the complains this gun has are actually about the tilted mag, wich is not very ergonomic. Anyways thanks for posting the video :)

Can you choose the direction in which the magazine tilts to? I love the gun, but its just that the magazine looks really awkward tilted like that. Can it be in the middle like standard firearms? And one more question, doesent the barrel which keeps reciprocating affect accuracy rather than contributing to more accuracy?

so its easily engaged to the firing stance without getting the mag trapped... so imagine ur gun is hanging on ur back and u need to engage it asap... and every time u do it it clips ur pockets or even ur side arm for example... thus the enemy has a valuable second to shoot you! ;)

Because most combat going forward is going to be taking place in urban environments. The M4 is a lot shorter than the M16 and with the Mk 318 Mod 0 (USMC), M855A1 (Army) and 5.56 Improved (USSOCOM) cartridges you don't give up any lethality. A stock that adjusts for length of pull is pretty much required for troops wearing body armor.

Is this legal in the us
The M4 is smaller ...
The M4 is smaller than the full sized rifle, as all carbines are, and will do just about everything an M16 will while being easier to carry and use in tight quarters. Personally, I'm a fan of the good old M4 and AK-74. Some of the new piston guns, a la SCAR/HK-416 are nice but rather expensive.
