@Ascesi79 Unfortunately we didnt have much before oil, it was literally a sandy village with wooden huts and one fort, if you're ever there I recommend going to see Al Fahidi Fort or Dubai Museum, or you could go to Abu Dhabi and see the old library and cultural center!

Watched a doc about this, and I had to laugh about the Irish developers that bought up the Ireland islands. They said they wanted to make them look exactly as if being in Ireland, and that if you were walking down the street there, you'd think you were in Ireland. Who wants to go on a vacation to a place that looks like, and has the same things AS THE PLACE YOU LIVE IN?
