no, either way it wasn't because Anastasia was like 16 at the time of the revolution, not eight. and the whole family didnt believe Anna Anderson, only a few people did including a childhood friend of Anastasia's. There is nothing historically accurate about this movie, even so I love it.

Yeah, what sucks is that at the time it was released, the movie was technicallu historically accurate. There was a girl who pretended to be Anastasia and the whole family believed her, and she lived her life as the lost princess, even being buried with the family. It wasn't until just after this movie was done that the real Anastasia's bones were found and they discovered the "found" princess was a fake.

Yeah, it's really sad... I think she's 18 in the movie but she died barely a month after turning 17 in reality. She was really pretty in real life too (see Wikipedia). But the movie is awesome ^__^
