A titanic and compelling show. The most controversial series ever made. The greatest anime of all time. These are just some of the things you will hear if you mention Evangelion.

One the best shows ...

One the best shows I've ever seen this and gurren laggan I can't consider gundam knockoffs

Well, the opening ...

Well, the opening is good, and it's the only video about eva that I watch

Neon Genesis ...

Neon Genesis Evangelion as a whole has to be the most brilliant, intense anime in this century. The concept of it puts you to your knees.

I know the ...

I know the religious symbolism is basically meaningless, and just to add some mystery, but boy did it get to me as much as the Japanese as a kid. One of the shows I grew up watching, and in my opinion one of the best shows ever. Love everything about it, including this glorious intro, which is also one of my favorites ever

it's Eva Geeks ...

it's Eva Geeks alright they all know their Eva stuff in there.

If you like eva, ...

If you like eva, you should totally check out Eva geeks . com. The people there are real chill and love doing this debate thing.

Lol. This is the most in depth and complex discussion regarding an anime I've seen. Good God, is this what forums are like?!

Every time I see ...

Every time I see the end of this opening where Shinji is smiling I feel so depressed.

I dunno about you ...

I dunno about you people, but I always thought it was quite uplifting and on the whole gave off a vibe of redemption and maturation. Made me feel good.

by very imaginative ...

by very imaginative Japanese director who wonder about the existence of humans and the reason behind their existence. Why do we question our own existence? Why do we exist? What does it mean to exist? The creators of NGE used imagery and story to portray basic human flaws.

Right ;)

Right ;)

NGE is one of those ...

NGE is one of those animes that has made its mark. For good or rather the god awful bad, much like school days it's something prolly everyone has endured. Me I thought it was fuckn depressing. No that's wrong, it is the definition of depressing lol. I'd heard the director was having some mental problems, let me tell ya, he definitely conveyed them through his work. I always wondered why someone would take a shard of glass and cut themselves. I think this show shows why through undertone.

True...true...

True...true...

Whenever I watch ...

Whenever I watch this, I think 'This is classic anime'.

yes.....dude, he ...

yes.....dude, he fell into a deep depression way before NGE, then he took out a pen and paper and wrote down thinks about depression which he later used in his anime....LATER used, LATER, so if he did that with NGE why would he do the same think with rebuilt since it's the same anime, well a little different...also might include some time traveling....but you know, it's the same show, and it's why the show was so good, along with other thinks

nah I'm optimistic ...

nah I'm optimistic it won't, yea that's what I'm trying to tell you in last two days the psychological aspects of the anime are based on his own experiences with overcoming this illness.

you wanna bet 3.0 ...

you wanna bet 3.0 and end will be dark as well, he wouldn't take away from the soul of eva, and again he wasn't depressed while making NGE he was depressed before, and he just put his depression in it, you can see how it's style is kept form the beginning when shinji acts really weird, and every scene is cut extra long with emphasis on nothing happening... to create suspense

Like I said it that ...

Like I said it that was the reason of NGE became Dark and Psychological, try to watch Rebuild of Evangelion it's a perfect example he's not depress anymore.

dude, i know that ...

dude, i know that what he did and why, but that's i don't think that's the reason the show became darker as it progressed, think about it, how would he have made the show not dark and psychological and still keep the story/fell of the show which was inspired by his own problems with depression...answer: he wouldn't

No,Hideaki Anno was ...

No,Hideaki Anno was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Borring, that he only take a wonderful idea to the TV

nebris? anyone?

nebris? anyone?

Man just relax lol ...

Man just relax lol, he wrote down on paper many of the trials and tribulations of his condition. During the show's production, Anno became disenchanted with the Japanese "otaku" lifestyle, considering it a form of forced autism. For this and other reasons Eva's plot became increasingly dark and psychological as the series progressed.

and Asuka as well ...

and Asuka as well more honest with herself about her feelings.
