"not so great commercially"???? Ant-225 is total financial disaster! Only 2 were ever built (1 is currently cannibalized for parts), only one ever flown commercially. No chance to ever recover the cost of design, production, maintenance, etc.... Not even come close.

That's a big bird but not so great commercially. As somebody who has handled an AN-225 turn I can tell you that it is both cost and labor intensive. You can turn a full B747-8F with 1/3 the manpower and no AC specific loading equipment. That being said, this machine is a wonder of soviet engineering.
