As much as Axl wants this band to be Guns N Roses they aren't, and wont ever be without that original line up. He should have ditched the name of which he tarnished and recorded an album that didn't take a over a decade to make when he's voice also didn't sound so poor and strained.

That's the point though- Plant- Page was a partnership. Slash was never the artistic equal of Axl's. Izzy Stradlin was the one much more essential to GNR's early sound and success. Nonetheless Izzy wanted to leave and ultimately Slash chose to leave too. I can't blame Axl for not wanting to record the material from Slash's Snakepit as the next GNR album- which is what Slash wanted to do. I credit Axl for having the balls, will, and determination to carry on the GNR legacy.

Without Jimmy Pages riffs Led Zeppelin would be nothing. Robert Plant wouldnt be lead singer, because Led Zeppelin wouldnt even exist. If you are Hard rock fan you must know what makes Led Zeppelins music that rare. Its Pages riffs...And to it adds fenomenal Plants voice. Every Hard rock star will say you that Pages riffs are piece of art and Plants voice is perfect. Slash still works eventhough I dont like his music now. What's Robert Plant without Jimmy Page? A great lead singer- that's what. That's a good example actually cause Plant and Axl both continue their legendary careers. Conversely Page and Slash have become caricatures of their former selves. Axl Rose and Robert Plant are still creatvely vital while Slash and Jimmy Page just want to cash in on their fan's nostalgia fetish. btw- neither Slash nor Adler were in the original GNR lineup.

I disagree. I like the demo version and the Brian May solo on it, but it didn't seem to close and end properly. I don't think it sounds all that distorted, and actually think it sounds pretty clean. Nonenetheless- I really like most of the demos out there, but I also love the album cuts. It's like there are two versions out there.

You fail to mention the fact that the entire music industry (at least in terms of album sales) collapsed between Spaghetti and Chinese. I think it actually hit #2 on the charts and has sold around 3 million records to date. Chinese didn't sell like old GNR records, but that has more to do with the state of the music industry, than anything else.
