I agree that Rahxephon is not a rip off of Eva. To me there was only one scene that Rahxephon stole from eva and thar was the scene where the Commander tells Ayato to kill the Dolem with the woman inside, since killing the Dolem was more important (ex Gendo telling Shinji to destroy Eva 3 with a pilot in it). Overall I did like Rahxephon, yet I found the ending annoying with all that frickin high pitch singing!

@SpairoAce and notice in evangelion as well there are a lot of dialog and scenes cut short of left out and i have watched through the entire anime many times and still things dont make sense since there is the story of shinji (representing pupity) and the angel story (all the biblical references) but one thing that never helped was one of the head employes was caught for tax evasion during the making and lost alot of money (look it up, its on the wiki) hence all the still scenes etc

the problem with ...
the problem with evangelion is not that its bad or has plot holes its just that everything to it has some sort of second meaning or representation making some scenes confusing or disturbing(look at the anime as someone going through pupity but x10)also if the guy handling the money wasn't tax evading then they would have had a lot more money to be able to fully realize the anime, hence why there is little action and alot of still scenes in the second half
