You see, it's a nifty attempt at broadening the use or appreciation of the word to other professions like those from I.T. and Software fields so they also can call themselves "architects". Look at etymology people. The word comes from the Greek word arkhitekton, from ἀρχι- "chief" and τέκτων "builder, carpenter, mason".
