Maybe they don't get out to the highlands much, but it's hard to be in Iceland and *not* be exposed to the natural landscapes. Even in Reykjavík you get those stunning cloudscapes, you have mountains and the ocean in plain view, that low-hanging sun with its neverending sunrises and sunsets, etc. And you go anywhere outside the city, and bam, you're essentially in the middle of beautiful nowhere.
