The Road - Official Trailer 2 [HD]

...

To the people ...

To the people saying they should have hired survival experts, it's very faithfully based on a book by the same name. You're missing the point of the story completely if you're hung up on survival realism. The realness comes from the interactions between the characters, and it becomes clear mid-way through the book the man is some sort of scholar most likely a doctor...

Best survival ...

Best survival production i've ever seen was the 1970's TV series 'Survivors', I watched all 38 episodes again earlier this year, they're all on youtube, type 'Survivors 1975 into the search box.

There are plenty of ...

There are plenty of survival/wilderness forums and experts around, so you'd have thought The Road producers would have hired one or two as scrpt advisers. I mean, why did the man and boy leave their home and go trekking across a cold desolate landscape instead of staying in town and getting food from deserted supermarkets? And why didn't the guy raid a gun store to get a gun and plenty of ammo?

But why? Most ...

But why? Most people knows nothing about survival rules, therefore mistakes seems to be expected.

1:30 You did good ...

1:30 You did good son, you did good..... I'm... proud of ya.

I'm a survivalist ...

I'm a survivalist and I found the film to be disappointongly unrealistic. The man and boy were completely disorganised and had no plan, and committed just about every survival mistake it's possible to make. Duvall was well disguised though, he fooled me completely and i had no idea it was him til i saw the credits..:)

is the book better ...

is the book better than the movie? should i read it first?

I didn't like the ...

I didn't like the ending! It just didn't seem to fit in with the tone of the rest of the book, seemed to sunshine and rainbows to fit the film. Don't how it should have ended, but I just don't feel that was the right way.

oh thanks for ur ...

oh thanks for ur explanation :)

You obviously ...

You obviously didn't read the book, correct? If you did then you would be able to analyse the ending much more thoroughly. The person follow him at the end was one of the only "good guys" that they found on the road. Since he was going to take the boy back to his family, it shows that the boy's future was safe with the survivor.Fairly good ending, if you ask me.

Yeah, the trailer ...

Yeah, the trailer makes it seem like a heroic apocalypse movie, when it's actually an unfathomably depressing but brilliant movie.

2:12 sounds like ...

2:12 sounds like the Nutrigrain 'Iron Man' scream. It kinda ruined the trailer for me.

The way this ...

The way this trailer looks is like one of those 'change the theme' parodies XD The Road is all about crushing despair, devastating loss, and ultimate futility. I guess they figured that wouldn't come across as a movie a lot of people would want to see.

Some of the worst ...

Some of the worst movie ever, dont buy it...
