BLACK SWAN Featurette: Darren Aronofsky
LOL! saddly, their ...
LOL! saddly, their will always be plenty of psuedo intelectual douchbags who think that sucking the cock of Aronofsky makes them geniuses, don't expect that to end anytime soon. Why I keep watching his movies? I saw RFAD years back and hated it for said reasons. The rest of his movies, one of my best friends is a nut for this guy so he drags be to them whenever one comes out and I don't have the heart to tell him that I despise them. I admitt that I like his first movie Pi though.
@mikedrummonds: we ...
@mikedrummonds: we get it, YOU don't like Aronofsky films yet you KNOW what an Aronofsky film is going to be about AND you KNOW the *majority* will like them so that put's you in the minority that is bashing your head against the wall. Why don't you stop bashing your head against the wall? And perhaps in a few years the view of Black Swan will change and it will be deemed crap and YOU win eh?
@mikedrummonds: If ...
@mikedrummonds: If someone didn't "rip someone off" we wouldn't have the point-of-view shot. If someone didn't "rip someone off" we would've never physically cut film and put it back together again in ways we want it to go together. If filmmakers didn't "flagrantly" "rip off" the work of others then we'd still be watching a performance on a theater stage with one fixed unmoving camera.
More to the point ...
More to the point though, being derivative is not even my major problemn with the film. My main beef, and this holds true with me for all of Aronofsky's films, is in the way that he takes every-single-solitary aspect of the the dramatic material and OVERDOES THE FUCK OUT OF IT. The way he insists on presenting EVERYTHING in the loudest, most melodramatic, over the top way immaginable makes his movies migrane inducing for me at first and ultimately just laughable.
First of all, I ...
First of all, I have no problemn with art receiving inspiration from other art. Where I draw the line is blatantly ripping off other art, witch this film did repeatedly (I can think of ten scenes off the top of my head that were lifted straight out of Repulsion and Cronenberg's The Fly, and that's just for starters). However, the death blow in the matter was the ten trillion know-nothing know it all dickheads who praised this thing for it's supposed origionality.
@mikedrummonds: YOU ...
@mikedrummonds: YOU have your *OPINION* but that's what you have YOUR OPINION. I don't see Black Swan as failure or great as Black Swan is that kind of film that needs time to determine how it stands up. Looking back now Gladiator doesn't look so great nor does titanic, especially titanic in comparison to L.A. Confidential. And the "stole ideas and scenes" simply doesn't hold water as cinema wouldn't exist without films relying on the works of prior persons. Get a clue.

Well, since you ...
Well, since you asked, I clicked on this video and commented for two basic reasons. To perhaps enlighten people about what a travesty this film truly is and if nothing else, piss off fags like you who think this garbage is masterfull cinema.
And so you're on a ...
And so you're on a video that's titled 'Black Swan' why? I would tell you where to shove your obnoxious opinions but your heads already firmly up there.
God, I despise this ...
God, I despise this film. Nothing but a derivative, over the top raping of the senses that blatently stole ideas and scenes from ten thousand ifinately better movies. The notion that a trillion people called this trash brilliant is one of the saddest indications of the state of modern society I can think of.

please pick a new ...
please pick a new still for this. I'm sure it's a good movie but I thought it was a wrestler sequel. due to a wrestler scene being the title still. Ither than that if it has a similar style it should be good.
I'm not into the ...
I'm not into the whole ballet thing, but this looks great. I know a lot of guys want to see that lesbian scene, but, for me, it's a docu-drama look to it. Maybe I'm somewhat a sucker for that style - less "Paranormal Activity, but more into "Timecode - that presents fiction to look real versus just plain Hollywood movies. I'm bittered and dumbfounded that a lot of directors in the industry have no or minimal interest in the visual part of the movie. Sure "Ordinary People" was great, but...
