No, I know the headstock and tuners are different. The inlay material is different too. It's just something about the body. It doesn't even have to be a burst of any sort, and I don't even have to see the neck. It can be a black Les Paul, and I can tell if it's an Epiphone or a Gibson just because the Epiphones have this distinctly shitty look for some reason.

The tuning gear? They are Grovers on Epiphones (which may not look as nice, but are better, Jimmy Page switched the Gibson tuners to Grovers)
